Roof – metal connections

Roof – metal connections in Central Switzerland – neat workmanship, technically correct.

Eurofugen – Roof – metal connections in the Zürich area. We prepare the joint plan, verify substrate strength and movement, and select an approved system (neutral‑cure silicone, hybrid/MS polymer, PU) in strict accordance with manufacturer specs. Focus: Lichtkuppel – Durchdringungen. Planning priority: Bewegungsraster & Anschlussdetails. Standards: EN 15651 / ISO 11600; separate bitumen/PVC/TPO systems.

Quality & acceptance

  • Uniform, slightly concave finish profile
  • Ensure bond at two flanks; prevent three‑sided adhesion using PE backer rod
  • Documented execution incl. photo record
  • Joint width/depth per plan (≈ 2:1)
  • Crisp edges without staining

Planning & preparation

We verify weather and dew point; application only on dry, load‑bearing flanks. Primers are chosen per substrate absorption (e.g., clinker, fair‑faced concrete, fibre cement). Mock‑ups with cut‑and‑pull checks provide pre‑approval. Create square, sound flanks, define depth and install the closed‑cell backer rod precisely. Detailing at edges, reveals and penetrations is recorded in drawings. Joint layout based on panel sizes and anticipated movement; critical edge zones are eased.

Application & control

Apply sealant without bubbles, fill the joint evenly and tool to a slightly concave profile. Transitions at profile joints and material changes are re‑worked separately. Maintain movement capability; remove masking in due time and verify edge adhesion. Use UV‑stable systems and protect adjacent surfaces from contamination. Random cut‑and‑pull checks, width/depth measurements and visual inspection are recorded.

Planning & preparation

Clean substrates, define edges and limit bond areas; primers & backer rod are matched to substrate and width. Mock‑ups and dew‑point checks secure approval. Interfaces are coordinated before start.

Application & control

Apply sealant bubble‑free, tool evenly and control dimensions. Check edge adhesion, remove masking in time and re‑work transitions neatly. Everything is recorded.
